KeyPoint Partners Consulted on Van Ness Avenue Site
BURLINGTON, MA (today) — KeyPoint Partners’ (KPP) nationally expanding entertainment client Apple Cinemas has signed a lease for a 92,724 square foot cinema in an historic mixed-use building in San Francisco, CA, its second in the state. Vice President of Retail Brokerage and Consulting Don Mace coordinated the deal on behalf the growing chain.
1000 Van Ness Avenue is a landmark building near Union Square in the heart of downtown San Francisco. The property, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was recently converted into a modern 147,528 square foot mixed-use complex encompassing retail and office space, a health club, luxury residential loft condominiums, and a parking garage.
“Apple Cinemas offers superb, high quality family entertainment to all patrons of all of its cinemas across the U.S.A.,” Mace says. Apple Cinemas is seeking sites throughout the U.S.A. to develop new cinemas or rebrand existing ones, with a goal of opening 100 cinemas during the next decade.
“Apple Cinemas is on a path to becoming one of the largest theater chains in North America. We’re assessing every opportunity to grow the brand, including expansion into Canada,” Mace says. “Apple Cinemas prefers sites in the 30,000 - 65,000 square-foot range with suitable ceiling heights, with an eye towards converting existing cinemas.”
Since 2010, Apple Cinemas has provided premium entertainment experiences at exceptional value, and currently operates 12 multi-screen family film and entertainment venues across six states, with two more under construction, including Danville, CA, which will open later this year, and additional leases pending.
