Apple Cinemas Secures Its First Cinema Site In New York
KeyPoint Partners Negotiates Deal With Wilmorite At Pittsford Plaza
BURLINGTON, MA (today) — KeyPoint Partners (KPP) negotiated a new lease for its expanding cinema client Apple Cinemas for a premier cinema location at Pittsford Plaza in Rochester, New York. Apple Cinemas will replace the former Pittsford Cinema 9 at 3349 Monroe Avenue. Vice President of Leasing Don Mace negotiated the deal for the 27,452 square foot cinema.
“Apple Cinemas will provide high quality family entertainment to the Rochester market, greatly enhancing the movie-going experience for Rochester residents as it expands its presence across the U.S.,” Mace says. Apple Cinemas is very bullish on the future of the cinema industry. KPP is seeking sites throughout the U.S. to develop new cinemas or rebrand existing ones, with a goal of opening 100 cinemas during the next decade.
“Apple Cinemas is on a path to becoming a top-tier cinema operator throughout the U.S. The group excels at enhancing the movie-going experience via technological upgrades, improved FF&E, and providing dine-in and enhanced food and beverage options. We’re assessing every opportunity to grow the brand,” Mace says. “Apple Cinemas prefers sites in the 30,000 - 65,000 square-foot range with suitable ceiling heights, with an eye towards converting existing cinemas.”
Apple Cinemas currently operates 16 multi-screen family film and entertainment venues and has signed seven new leases in the past six months. Apple Cinemas recently opened two new theaters in the Hartford, Connecticut market, two in New Hampshire, and two in Maine. The Pittsford Plaza site will kick start Apple Cinema’s expansion into the state of New York.
Since 2010, Apple Cinemas has provided premium entertainment experiences at exceptional value, with luxury stadium recliner seats, digital projection and sound, and self-serve snack bars in a family-friendly environment. Apple Cinemas will be adding upscale dining options at selected locations. Apple Cinemas presents varied and dynamic programming featuring popular blockbusters, art films, and foreign films in several languages.
